WAYS TO TREAT SKIN PROBLEMS WITH BAKING SODA: Baking soda is a common kitchen ingredient used in baking of different pastries like chin-chin, rolls, sausage etc., but have you ever thought this kitchen ingredient can be very useful outside the kitchen? Yes, baking soda can be used in the room on the skin, don't be surprised to hear this because the nature (pH level) of baking soda make it possible for it to react with the human skin. The alkalinity of baking soda is high which balances the pH level of the skin it comes in contact with, removing its dead skin and exposing the fresh underneath layer which glows. Below are eight different skin problems which baking soda will help remove;

1. Skin rashes

Baking soda can help dry up the skin because of its alkaline property, thereby reducing the tendency of itching and swelling that result from skin rashes. This is also possible because of the anti-inflammatory and anti-bacteria power of baking soda. Make sure you mix coconut oil with the baking soda and apply it to the rash spot for about 5minutes, twice daily.

2. Acne scars

A dammed skin with dead skin or oil brings about pimples on the surface of the skin called acne. After successfully removing the acne from the skin, it leaves behind black spots which disfigure the skin. To remove this acne, mix baking soda and water to form a paste, then apply to the skin 2 to 3times daily for about 3minutes.

3. Yeast infection

Yeast infection also known as candida fungus is an infection of the mouth or intestinal tissue, baking soda is able to treat this infection due to its anti-fungus and alkaline property. To treat this, mix baking soda and water to form a solution which you drink continuously for 10 to 15days.

4. Skin tan

It also helps to remove any form of skin tan from the skin. Mix a teaspoon of baking soda with water and vinegar to form a paste, then apply it to the skin and leave it for 10minutes. This should be done once or twice a week.

5. Sunburn

Baking soda has a cooling effects when mixed with cold water, applying this mixture to the affected skin reduces itch and gradually eliminate it.

6. Blackheads

Due to baking soda's anti-bacteria and anti-fungus properties, it helps soften the tissue around the blackhead thereby aiding easy removal

7. Skin whitening

A regular wash of the skin with baking soda helps in whitening the skin, apply the baking soda paste gently to the skin in a circular motion for about 2minutes, then wash off and apply moisturizer to it.

8. Natural cleansers

Baking soda due to its alkaline property, helps in softening the skin, thereby removing dust from the surface. It also opens up the skin pores and remove excess oil which can cause clogging of the skin pores.
